This week’s topic for the weekly photo challenge is based on Lynn Wohlers Photography 101 lesson on – Establishing Point of View. Hence the challenge is Unusual i.e. to show any existing location from your own unique / fresh perspective.
For this challenge I decided to present a new look of the Mumbai skyline. Instead of the traditional shots taken from Marine Drive or Mumbai Worli Sea Link, I decided to take a shot of Bandra’s skyline from Jogger’s Park at Carter Road. The traditional / typical shot of the Bandra skyline and the wild monsoon sea is as below-
However for the theme – Unusual, I walked back a little and took the shot of the skyline through the blowing palm leaves, using the palm leaves and lamps as the frames for the shot –
Apart from acting as the unusual frame for the shot, the blowing palm leaves also illustrate the mad winds or the monsoons for the viewers (since the sea is now not visible).
