This week’s weekly photo challenge is “Layers” and my image for the same is this flower, whose name I earlier didn’t know. But after this post went live last night, I received numerous responses from my blogging world friends who identified this flower for me, and it’s the Passiflora – the Blue Passion Fruit flower. I would like to thank everyone who commented on this post and helped me identify this flower. 🙂 Super thanks everyone.
I saw this flower on one of the 5 islands of Cinque Terre in Italy and instantly loved its colors and numerous layers. This was growing like a creeper all around these islands, but surprisingly I dint see them anywhere else in Italy (i.e. wherever I traveled).
I loved the different shapes and colors of each layer, especially the three colors of the long thin petals. Each of the 5 layers in this flower had a different shape and color but it all fit together to form one gorgeous flower. This image always reminds me of nature’s beautiful color palette and somehow always getting the color combinations correct, thereby making each of its creations uniquely beautiful. Don’t you agree?
Have you seen this flower before and know its name, then do write to me and let me know too. And in case you want to check additional entires on this topic, do visit this link.

Wonderful photography as usual! It is a flower of passion fruit, I guess! Similar wild creeper is also present in my native, Dakshina Kannada, which we call as ‘Gadiyara flower’ or ‘watch’ flower.

Of all the flower photo that I’ve seen, I can say that this is the most gorgeous of all. It’s beauty makes me speechless, and I want to go to places where flowers (like this) bloom incredibly. Going to different travel destinations really allows us to see things as awesome as this.
