Best Travel Moments from 2014 (The Year of many Firsts’)

31 Dec

Bidding goodbye to any year is never without mixed feelings. On one hand there is an excitement about planning for the new year anticipating new possibilities and potential opportunities. While on the other, there is a sadness like bidding goodbye to a good friend (time!), who has been a constant companion through the year, seen us through life’s ups and its downs, taken us to new shores, helped us grow another bit and discover that one other aspect about ourselves which we didn’t expect to find.

Photo Essay – An afternoon at the New York Public Library

6 Sep

Walking around aimlessly on my first day in New York, I came across a beautifully grand building and two majestic lions zealously guarding its entrance. Intrigued I went up to see what it was and it turned out to be the New York Public Library. I saw numerous people entering it with cameras and generally walked in to see what it was all about. I had earlier loved its exteriors but was majorly surprised by its unexpected stunning interiors. I then spent an entire afternoon walking through its various rooms, checking out it’s amazing collection of books and photographing its various nooks and corners. Sharing the same with you below –

My First Impressions of New York City

31 Aug

New York City (NYC)… If anyone asks me to describe NYC in one word, frankly I will be quite lost for words…

When I first arrived in the city, I was exhausted after a 16 hours flight, jet lagged and convinced that it’s just another big concrete jungle. But within a few minutes here I was caught-up in its magic and totally charmed by its sights. Armed with my friend, Archi’s list of suggestions (a perfect guide for any NYC debutante) I walked all around Manhattan to discover the un-discovered! And I was soon caught-up in a magical web of different experiences that are unique and somethings that I would have never associated with NYC.
