As many of you may know I am planning to be on the road again for quite a long trip soon, and all I have done in these last 3 weeks (apart from a hectic office and everyone unwell at home) is to plan, eat and sleep this trip. Things finally reached such a saturation point, that nothing seemed to be working and I just had to shut my brain and go for some form of spa therapy. And thankfully I came across the Four Fountains Spa.
The Four Fountains Spa’s USP is that it is one of Indiaβs largest spa chains with a variety of spa therapies at affordable prices. This was a big criteria for me as my frequent travels always leave me with quite depleted (nearly empty) bank accounts. Also as I am always saving for that next trip, the first few things to take a cut are such seeming luxuries. π
Anyways, I visited this spa and was actually amazed at the prices. The most expensive therapy here was an hour massage for Rs. 2,000/- and that too could be reduced with weekday or membership discounts. The spa menu had 4 broad therapy options – De-stressing, Detox, Beauty and Immunity. They also had the Thai stretch massage which I had gone for in Thailand and that too at nearly the same price as I had paid there. However my special favorites were the Lifestyle packages, where they have specific therapies for IT professionals, Home Makers, Car commuters and Frequent Fliers. These target specific problem areas associated with these lifestyles and I am sure are extremely effective π
Well, after loads of deliberations (as everything seemed too good), I decided to go in for a 1 hour Aromatherapy massage (energizing) and added a head massage to it too. This was a gentle massage done using Spearmint, Lemon and French Lavender essential oils to energize the body and mind. The brochure said that the Spearmint acts as a stimulant, Lemon is a well-known anti-depressant and French Lavender reduces anxiety. That definitely sounded like something that I was looking for. Once I decided on this therapy, a trained doctor asked me the basic necessary questions about my health, medications etc and asked what were the areas that were specifically feeling stressed. She then gave me a small note with more information on the therapy and a note for the therapist with specific areas to specifically concentrate on. She also diagnosed that based on my lifestyle and stress levels, I should come for a follow-up session every 21 days.
She then introduced me to my therapist. My therapist for the day was Uma who started the therapy with a 10 minute head massage and then proceeded to the invigorating body massage. Uma definitely had magic fingers and within a few minutes into the therapy it really felt like each body part was letting go of all the stress and strain that it was holding and finally getting all set for the next challenge. There was a specific massage for each body part and even a light massage for the eyes π I can’t say much more as you truly have to try this to experience what I mean. In fact I didn’t even realize when my hour was up and it was time to leave. After the massage I truly felt completely energized and was all set to tackle every obstacle heading my way π
If you are also looking for such a therapy, then do check for this spa chain around you. It is a definite must try. As for me, I am hooked and will surely visit them again, as there are many more interesting therapies to try π They have membership options too that provide good discounts on all future visits.
Things that I really liked about them –
- Very good therapies at seriously affordable prices. The standards of the therapy were that of any 5 star spa but at seriously discounted prices.
- The complete variety provided in the kind of therapies, especially the specific lifestyle therapies.
Thanks & Disclosure: β¨Many thanks / muchas gracias to The Four Fountains Spa for sponsoring this spa experience. The therapy was all that it had promised to be – de-stressing, refreshing and energizing. I enjoyed it thoroughly and post my trip I look forward to visiting you again π
I’ll have to keep this in mind if I ever make it to India.
